I spent this weekend at a women's retreat with my church. Despite being physically tired, I find that spiritually I am wide awake and inspired. The weekend was spent learning about the Sabbath and how we bring the practice of observing Sabbath in our lives. There were no techniques shared but rather a simple explanation of it being a choice. We have the spirit of the Creator of the Universe coursing through our veins so our rest lies in choosing to rest in his spirit within us. The gateway to resting in the presence of God is gratitude. Expressing our thankfulness to him opens us up to hearing, seeing and feeling his spirit within us and allowing us to just be with Him. So, I invite you to join me on a 365 day journey of resting in the presence of our God and drawing closer to Him more than ever before.
Psalm 22:25-26 I will praise you in the great assembly. I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you. The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the Lord will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.

God's Not Dead
I watched the movie God’s Not Dead tonight. The intellectual
argument part was good but so not might thing as I just can’t process what
someone is saying that has so much profound stuff in it without hearing it
again and again or reading it so I can really process the words. In any case,
it was a very good movie. I looked outside and saw the sun had just set behind
the mountains but some sunshine was still coming through the clouds making a
beautiful display so I decided I would take a walk with God. Along this walk
God brought it to my attention that we are on a journey like a person walking
down a path, we are going to encounter people and situations as we go along
each day. God is working in us in each and every one of those people and/or
situations that happens in each of our days. He is showering love on us,
convicting us of our sins, drawing us to come closer to Him, encouraging us,
bringing us wisdom, reminding us about Himself and His love, and so much more.
Each day in everything we do God is working in and through us. He may be
bringing us wisdom and strengthening of our faith as we read His Word or He may be
giving you the encouraging words to say to a friend or motivating you to smile
to a stranger who looks like they could use a smile from someone. Each day is
filled with God’s work. How much more can we grow as believers if on our
journey we take a moment with God to stop and reflect on our day, the people we
encountered, the situations we were in, the conversations we had or didn’t
have. We should be asking ourselves at the end of each day, what work has God
done in me today? and what more can I learn and do tomorrow?

365 Days of Spirit-Filled Fruits Challenge-Day 326
I began my journey with Crossfit last evening. Squats are my new
best friend. Despite my lack of flexibility, I was able to consistently
maintain the correct mechanics of the 3 different kinds of squats we were
taught. In the end, it is not about what we have in terms of flexibility or
strength but that we put are all into it and don’t give up. Our spiritual
journey is much the same way; we don’t have all we need or change instantly
when we accept Jesus into our hearts. But we can choose to not give up, study,
keep praying, praising and worshiping and we will find blessing not only in the
end result but in the journey itself.
But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they
shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they
shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

365 Days of Spirit-Filled Fruits Challenge-Day 222 & 223
Despite being out-of-shape, I managed to survive a 5 mile round-trip hike on the Fern Lake trail in Rocky Mountain National Park . I was the slow-poke of the family. This trip through the forest was a testament to perseverance. My attitude was focused on getting to “The Pool” which was our destination. It was a lovely spot and worthy of the effort. It make me think of our spiritual journey with the Lord. It can be difficult with moments where you need to stop and stretch or times when you need to take a break for some water. There can even be times when you contemplate turning back or just stopping to catch your breath. These times in our spiritual journey are times when we get into our bible, pray or talk with a fellow believer. Our journey through life is difficult just as a hike up a mountain can be when you are not in the best of shape but with the right focus and those moments of prayer, study and worship the Lord gives us what we need to continue that hike. Those stretching breaks, water up times and rests for breathe provide us the strength to keep going. Be sure to do your stretches, drink your water and breathe in the living word of God and you will be able to preserve and enjoy the moments along the way.
Hebrews 12: 1 …and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

365 Days of Spirit-Filled Fruits Challenge-Day 143
My daughter and I have been reading a book called The Ark, the Reed & the Fire Cloud by Jenny L Cote. It is a story about the flood and Noah’s ark in a really fresh new way. There are two main animal characters Max and Liz who are called by the Maker to follow the fire cloud. They obey and start their journey towards the ark and pick up other animals along the way. The story takes you all the way through the flood, the 40 days and nights of rain and the year long time spent on the ark waiting for the waters to recede. It has been fascinating to read and than wonder what must it really have been like. It is hard to imagine 16,000 animals all coming to the ark, let along living on the ark and than emerging from the ark to a whole new world. I don’t think people put a whole lot of thought into the story of Noah’s ark, perhaps because it is unbelievably amazing to consider but this author imagined it. How did all those animals get to the ark? See if you can imagine how those animals came to the ark and both male and female too!
Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, O Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders.

365 Days of Spirit-Filled Fruits Challenge-Day 32
I read a book over the last couple days called Crossroads by William Paul Young the writer of the well-known book The Shack. The Shack was so enthralling a story that I knew I had to get and read this newest book. I wasn’t disappointed! I don’t want to give away the whole story but suffice it to say it takes you through a journey of one person who because of the suffering in his life built up walls and hated God. On the journey he learns about himself, God and love and tears down the walls with forgiveness and grace and learns to love like Jesus. If you love page-turner kinds of books, this is one you must read! It really demonstrates all the key points in learning to love: forgiveness, letting go, other-centered vs self-centered, acceptance, not on your own but with the help of Jesus and so on. I know I will be reading this book again and again. Praising God for his unfathomable love for us and the gift of this writer who wrote a story that shares with us the power of love.
John 15:13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

365 Days of Praise Challenge-Day 357
How did I get so blessed to have the husband I have? He has always been a tremendous support to me, showing his love and caring. In terms of love languages, I think he likes to give love by his acts of service. I see this in him everyday but it is especially evident when like yesterday I was feverish from fighting off some virus, dealing with the shoulder pain and the after affects of my work. He tells me “sit down and relax” and is up and getting me anything I need all evening. I am just so thankful to God for my husband and so thankful to be able to be a witness to seeing him grow and mature in his faith. It is a privilege to be able to walk along side him in this journey of our lives.
1John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

365 Days of Praise Challenged-Day 310
I got wrapped up this morning in a task of putting together a powerpoint that I can use to tell about my calling to be a bibilical counselor and the help and support I will need. I spoke with my biggest fan and supportor, my Mom on Saturday and explained to her about the NCCA accredited school and program and my desire to get the first Phase of the program paid so I could focus on the study and start the saving for the remaining cost of the program. She said she would gladly loan me $1000 if I could get the other $500. So, I decided to put together a powerpoint presentation to share with my Dad and my family and friends to let them know what was going to be happening and what I am going to be needing on this journey. I feel at peace knowing that God will bring the funds to me to get this started and that all the needs along the way like the 25 people needed for case studies will be provided. Lord, thank you for filling me with the faith to say with you I can do it!
Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

365 Days of Praise Challenge-Day 119
Excitement is running through my veins. I have my first outside workshop set up for April 15th. It's a one-time kind of workshop based on John 16:33. The photos used for this workshop can be of your Easter celebration. God has even provided a great song to go along with the workshop by Jeremy Camp. My dream is becoming a reality! God is so good. Anyone can attend these workshops so if you are here in town, you are welcome to join us on April 15th. I will post more details on my calendar of events page or you can email me. This isn't the most optimal photo of the project but you get the idea. The photos in the project are only temporary until we go through Easter and I can add my Easter photos. I have other paper options to suit your tastes as well. I am praising God for his continual guidance and faithfulness as I go along this journey with this ministry.

365 Days of Praise Challenge-Day 2
Yesterday was my first Thanksgiving spent in my home with me making the traditional turkey dinner in all my 15 years of marriage. Every year we have gone up to Sterling over Thanksgiving holiday and I have never had to cook a thing but I have always wanted to. I was so excited to actually be home for Thanksgiving so I could do the cooking. I took photos along my cooking journey so I can later put together my scrapbook page about the day. So, my praise today is for being able to make some good food everyone enjoyed. I made the labor intensive but highly favored dish that I grew up with thanks to my Polish grandparents, called peirogies. It will be another year or so before I do that again but they are so worth the work. My pumpkin pies were a bust but I am ready to try it again next year.
