365 Days of Spirit-Filled Fruits Challenge-Day 241

This word “prophecy” is one of those words that has various meanings and it all depends on the context it is in. When I saw it in this scripture below, I just knew it was time to do a little research on this word to help me better comprehend. Prophesy can mean foretelling as most of us probably know but it also means forth telling which in a nut shell means proclaiming the truth. It turns out “prophet” in Greek means to announce and prophets were considered “messengers of God”. So in plain 21st century language, when we have the Holy Spirit in us we become messengers of God who proclaim the truth.

Acts: 19:2 and 6 “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”  When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
