365 Days of Spirit-Filled Fruits Challenge-Day 157

The other day at work I had to listen to a phone conversation that got very heated. The Assistant Manager was trying to get information on the new program that I have to use to import. I ended up with an error message and got the word on what to do to avoid that and than came to a screen that I was at a loss on what to do. The training I had with our manager never went this far in the process because of a program issue. The conversation was mostly done in a foreign language but there were a few English words in there and the tone, frustration and anger made it obvious that she wasn’t getting the info she needed but an apparently rude and disrespectful brick wall. This person apparently has a reputation for acting this way. There have always been some thing I will not tolerate and one of those is disrespect. My immediate thought was I had better avoid having to ever talk with this person because I may loose it. But later after letting it sit in my mind for a while, I started to think of how would have Jesus responded to such a person. Gentleness and compassion were the words that came forward. He would treat any person regardless of the rudeness or disrespect as a valuable person who is loved by God. It will definitely take the power of the Holy Spirit within me to do what Jesus would do in this kind of situation.
Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

365 Days of Praise Challenge-Day 113

Value. How much do you feel valued? I know that I am of great value to God because of what Jesus did on the cross for me and that keeps me grounded. I realized how much of a struggle it is at my job because I don't feel valued. I don't think they realize all that I do and if I was suddenly not there anymore what that would do. Not that I would ever just up and quit but the time has definitely come to seek out other job opportunites that will not be a hinderance to my goals and dreams for this ministry. I leave for the day with a sense of pride in all that I did but am discouraged at the same time because I don't feel like they care or value me or my work. I feel like God has been slowly but surely trying to tell me it's time to go elsewhere. Have courage and get into a part-time job that will not hinder my ministry efforts and know that God will take care of the financial side of providing. I have to get past the fears of what's next and how will it play out for me and my family. God values me and I will go wherever he leads me.

365 Days of Praise Challenge-Day 93

I have been letting the lack of appreciation, the feelings of being under-valued, the lack of communication and all the changes at my workplace get to me. I have always taken in feelings and let them bottle up too much to the point where they explode. Steam has been coming out of me the last couple days at work because the workload is entirely too much for one person. I woke up this morning and my first thoughts were negative thoughts about my job. After letting off some more steam to my husband who is a very good and patient listener, I thought enough is enough. I am going to let this all go and get back in my bible and get my focus on God. I have encountered a detour sign on my journey of faith and took the detour but I am getting back on the right road today and will write up a little pray card for work to help me let go of the negatives and just do my job the best I can and remember I am called to be a light in the world. We all encounter these detours or speed bumps in our road of faith. Are you on a detour like I was? Look at your heart, pray and get yourself back on the right road.
